Healthy Meal suggestions for Outback Steakhouse

So I was here for Sunday dinner with Derrick's family. The place was his mom's choice since she had a gift card that she really wanted to use. So I thought....okay why not...I mean I couldn't remember the last time I'd been to an Outback. How bad could it be? We started with an order of the chicken wings. Meh, they weren't my favorite wings but everyone else at the table seemed to enjoy them. For my meal I decided to go with the Firecracker Salmon. Now, before you get yourself all in a tizzy thinking "why in the world would she get fish and a steakhouse?!' Let me explain, you see once you've had a REALLY well seasoned and correctly prepared steak...it's hard to come back to a chain like this and order a chewy, burnt piece of meat. No thanks, I'll stick with one of their other entree options and keep getting my steaks elsewhere. Now back to the salmon. It's comes topped with a spicy sauce and mango salsa. You can choose any side option but they were completely out of fresh broccoli so I stuck with their mixed veggies. I mean the meal was fine. The salmon was The veggies were a little overcooked for my personal preference. I'm not a fan of mushy veggies. So here's my conclusion....Was it edible. Yep. Did it "wow" me? No.

So I have left 2 four star reviews for this Resturant in the past and it hurts to downgrade it to a one star. The waitress was a good server so this is solely on tonight's food. I ordered the 6 oz sirloin medium, salad with no onion, sweet potato. Salad was ok. For some reason salads at Outback are just a small amount of lettuce, a large amount of cheese, small tomatoes, and croutons. When anything on the salad is bad, you lose. It was ok. Steak came very well done. Very tough. I couldn't chew the steak. I just was not going to eat it as I couldn't chew it. Waitress was insisting to get me another steak and I frankly didn't want to take the time. I didn't want to talk to the manager. I was just going to pay for it and leave. My husband had ordered ribs and chicken. His ribs were refrigerator cold. I told him not to eat them. I am always afraid of danger when meat is cold. I decided now it was time to talk to manager. She came over to table and said "I thought you didn't want to talk to me. I've already taken the meal off." I explained I hadn't wanted to talk to her until my husband told me he had cold ribs. At that time my husband said he chicken was really good. By the time our waitress came and checked on us again, my husband had noticed his chicken wasn't quite cooked all the way. We told her just to charge us whatever and we were ready to leave. They did comp our meal. Our waitress was really nice. I didn't feel the manager was apologetic although she had comped our meal. She didn't come to our table and apologize for the ribs or chicken. The waitress said the meal was comped. When the manager talked to us, she seemed defensive and said the ribs were cooked thoroughly so there was no danger. I would have felt better if she had said that she was sorry. Oh well, there are other steak houses here in Rock Hill.

I had a pretty good time during my visit here. We ordered and the food came promptly. The waitress was friendly and gave helpful ideas and even informed us about a change in menu that will be coming soon that she thought we might enjoy. The food was cooked as expected and was prepared well. We ordered a steak and some wings. Everything had been prepared to our satisfaction. The night we went it was full of birthdays and I think we heard them sing the birthday song at least 10 times. I am not holding that against this place. I guess it's a compliment to them that so many want to have their birthday there and be sung to.

Unusually poor cuts of meat. We had one filet, one 12oz prime rib and one rib eye. All were chewy and you had to really saw with the knife to even cut it. Not the way I remember Outback, although we don't dine in chains often. Went there for the blooming onion, because after 10 years, I had forgotten how darn greasy they are. Pleasant and attentive service and a consistant atmosphere were the pluses.

There's a fabulous appetizer on the menu for a limited time - bbq/cheddar shortrib nachos. These things are well worth the price of admission. The portion was small and they were stingy with the rib meat but still the dish was crazy good. They use kettle chips instead of corn chips. The chop salad continues to satisfy. The steamed veggies came in chunks do huge I needed a chain saw to whittle them down to bite-sized portions. The salmon was excellent, but the NY strip was tough and didn't have much flavor. Portion sizes are shrinking all the way round at Outback but prices aren't - for one who's been dining at Outback for years I feel like I'm getting less for my money now and probably won't go as often. Our server was Jerry - very professional and cute as a button!

Inconsistent service but food is good. Last 2 visits we were close to walking out because we felt like our waitress forgot we were there. I could go into more detail but heads up on service.

Came with family (wife and 4 kids, 17-11). Blue Moon on draft with orange slices (yay!). Complimentary bread great as usual. 3 steaks ordered (a 6oz outback, 9oz outback and a 10oz new york) all medium rare and all cooked perfectly. Wide ordered a specially made vegetarian sandwich on focaccia bread. Son didn't think the hot wings were hot but he loved the sauce. Our youngest loved the kids ribs dinner. Friendly and prompt staff.

I can never figure out why every Outback I've been to has been so inconsistent! If I'm in the mood for a steak and don't want to grill one myself...Outback is NOT where I'm going for one. The food isn't bad...and it isn't good...it's a crap-shoot if you're going to get your food cooked correctly. What I don't understand is this...YOU'RE A STEAKHOUSE! If you cook steaks ALL the time, why don't you know how to cook a medium steak consistently? And sure...ordering a steak well-done doesn't make sense to me either...but well-done means cooked through...not dry. I've never been able to understand the appeal of your restaurant...and the masses that gather to get in. The two star rating is perfect for Outback since..."Meh. I've experienced better" is what I'm usually thinking while eating here.

I took my wife for her birthday. Her steak was over cooked and dry. Mine was charcoal on the outside and rare in the middle. I made the mistake of sending mine back. After waiting for over 20 minutes for a new steak I asked for the check to leave. I had already paid and we were on our way out before the manager even bothered to come by. He had a replacement steak that was just the same as the first. I took it home and smelled of it. It smelled like truck stop men's room. Needless to say, I will not return. The only reason They are getting 1 star is that I can't give them less.

It's Outback. Just what I expected. Service was very good even though they were busy. It was a Rib-eye, and cooked as I ordered it, but it didn't knock my socks off. I didn't expect much more for the price, I little gristly for I rib-eye I thought. We had a good time, and overall good experience, but not where I'd go for steak either unless I get more gift cards. I'd grill it myself, or spend extra money for a better steak somewhere else. I did like that they had the option of wood fired, but didn't really taste it. I'm kind of a snob when it comes to steak, so if you just want your slab of meat cooked the way you like it you'll enjoy it.

I always go to the bar the bartenders are very good and quick to serve I always get food to go and it is always good the only reason for four stars is it is very busy but good

Where will I begin how about to the sound of our entrees echoing onto the dining room when they fell onto the ground, or when we had to send back our steaks for recooks, or the server who clearly in the wrong field, or when we had our checks delivered and everyone's checks were wrong and had to wait awhile for it to be fixed!!!

We ate here for lunch, it was rather expensive, and the food, while decent, was not anything special. I had the fish taco, and my wife had a steak sandwich.

Wow, first to review??? Always amazing... this place rocks... and it is a chain which is kinda suprising to me. I ordered the 6 ounce sirloin which comes with two sides for $9.99. The meat was cooked to perfection and so was the potato and the steamed veggies. We also ordered the sampler of desserts... OMG killer. I had written off Outback way back when and now I can't wait to try it when I get home to CA. AND, the service was top notch!

I have liked Outback Restaurants for quite some time now. This one is the best one I've been to. Very clean, staff is great and the food is always done right and on time. Personally the most important detail for me in a restaurant is ambience and cleanliness. It's difficult to eat in a place that you're not comfortable in. Definitely recommended.

Last time I ate there was the last time. Ordered lobster and it was soft. Mushy, Times before food was much better. May try it again someday.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times, but sadly the quality continues to deteriorate. The portions have shrunk, as the prices continue to climb. I guess they think no one will notice, but I do, and doubt that I will return. My steak tonight was small in size and one third of it was gristle. You don't expect this in a filet, but this is the second time, and the last time for me. I got a mediocre steak, a handful of fries, and a minuscule salad. The total bill, with tip, was almost $60.00, not a good value, very disappointing.

Maybe the best service ever. Ian was great! Outgoing, knowledgeable, fast and seemed to have a passion for his job. Wanted the filet and lobster combo. Ian recommend the Old Bay butter for the lobster and it was great. I always find the Outback chain very consistent which is why I eat here when I travel, but the service tonight was truly special.

I live pretty much in walking distance to this place. It is what it is. I have never found staff to be anything but friendly and service is typical of all chain restaurants. After all that's why you visit a chain, to get the exact same thing no matter where you are. The place always seems busy whether it is happy hour or Sunday dinner. Just boring - certainly far better places to eat steak, even in Rock Hill.

We ate here for New Year's Eve. They were very busy, but we had incredible service all the way around. The servers were on top of it. At every table around us the server was there within a minute of the customer being seated. Pretty impressive. Our food arrived quickly and was so good. Would highly recommend this location.

1319 River Run Court Rock Hill, SC 29732 Phone number (803) 329-6283 Business websiteoutback.com/Locat… Wifey and myself went to Outback Steak House in Rock Hill, SC and waited 20 minutes to get a table and another 40 minutes on food. I never complained to them, but the manager brought our food to the table and said they lost the ticket and our supper was compliments of the Outback. My food was great but my salad was quite small as though they may had weighed it. They brought out our salads w/o silverware so I had to get up and find the waitress to get the utensils. The waitress never offered us steak sauce either, plus my wife had requested for her salad dressing to be on the side which it was not. I ate 3 loaves of that bread while waiting. Thank you Outback for the meal...FREE IS FOR ME......oh yeah, I will go back, when I don't know. Plus you need free wifi. With free wifi you don't worry about the wait time cause you are occupying your time. I would give you 2 1/2 stars but it ain't offered, so you get 2 stars. My 2 1/2 stars is for customer service and I will give you a 4.5 on the food out of 5 stars. Waitress was about 8.5 out of 10. She forgot a few things. GOOD LUCK! See you around. As Arnold say, "I'll be baaaaack".

So, maybe I've been cooking too well for myself lately and it has been awhile since I went out to eat, but Holy Sodium, Batman! We were craving steak and ribs, so we decided to go to Outback, which we'd both enjoyed in the past (but not at this location). On a Thursday evening at 7:15pm, it was busy but there was no wait for a table. With 95% of the tables in service, it was very loud although there was no background music. There were flat screen TVs everywhere for ease of distraction, however, showing mostly sports without sound. When did simply enjoying the company of your companions fall out of favor? We started with a Bloomin' Onion, of course, which was very salty--not just the salt-lick dipping sauce, but the onion itself as well. Too salty to finish. Our drinks were Guinness in the bottle and a 10 oz Foster's on draft. It should be noted that significantly fewer restaurants carry Guinness than my husband would prefer. Husband ordered half rack of baby back ribs, which came out dry, but the waitress offered to bring out more barbecue sauce when he refused to return it to the kitchen (he was hungry then). Accompanying the ribs were garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed mushrooms (which he paid extra for). The mushrooms, again, were very salty and sitting in a bowl of liquid ended up on the soggy side. I ordered a 6 oz. steak with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, which turned out to be a mixture of snow peas, cauliflower, sliced carrots and broccoli. The steak was about two inches thick, cooked to order (medium), not grisly or especially tender, but sadly bland. I know I have had better steaks at Outback, but then again, I've had much worse. Oddly, the steak didn't seem to be seasoned at all, not even mildly. The garlic mashed potatoes, with little bits of red rose potato skin, are delicious in flavor, if slightly gluey. The vegetables were sad, slippery shadows of their less cooked selves. The broccoli was mostly rubbery stem (that part that should be reserved for broccoli soup or something that is cooked for long periods of time) and the snow peas did not have their spines removed, which necessitated picking them out of my teeth. Yuck. Our rugrat ordered grilled cheese with macaroni and cheese on the side, of course. I warned her she might be stopped up later. :-D She reported that the grilled cheese tasted like it was prepared with smoked cheddar and she really liked it. I didn't try it, but it was one of the rare times we didn't have to keep reminding her to eat her dinner. For dessert, we shared a peanut butter pie with chocolate sauce. It was almost like cheesecake, yet slightly fluffier, and tasted like a peanut butter cup. Yum! Portion sizes are relatively large, so we ended up with a large bag of leftovers. Clearly, this is a restaurant you go to to gorge yourself, certainly not count calories. The menu seems to be designed to get the most food for your money, and quality is an afterthought. It's not bad, but it's not spectacular. It is a perfect example of Americana chain restaurant fare.

It's Outback. Chains rarely delight me but this one does ok. It is right next door to the Courtyard that I stay in for business so it's convenient. Curbside takeaway is really convenient. On my last visit, I grabbed a chicken cobb salad and took it up to my room to chillax for the evening.
